Which doors work on Jeeps and which ones don’t!
I get calls all the time about Jeep doors. So I thought I’d write about them. The CJ 7 came with either full soft doors or full steel doors. If you want to put full steel doors on a CJ 7, you can use Wrangler YJ doors (1987-1995). They fit perfectly and will cost between $600- $900 a pair used.
Don’t forget to ask about the keys. Now lets talk about half doors. The Jeep to the left is a beautiful example of a CJ 7 with Jeep YJ (1987-1995) half doors on it. If you choose to put doors on your Jeep, let’s see what that entails. I’ve never seen a pair of doors that just didn’t slip right into the body hinges. But that doesn’t mean that they’re on correctly. The body lines are a good clue to alignment. Also the distance between the door and the body must be even and parallel To achieve this, just loosen the door hinge screws and adjust the door.
Why does this matter? Well, you have three factors that have to work together. The hard top, the doors and the windshield. You can refer to our Jeep pre-installation instructions to check the windshield alignment. Once the doors and the windshield are checked, then the hardtop will slip on and fit perfectly. While we talking about hard tops, the Wrangler YJ (1987-1995) will fit on the CJ 7.

Rally Tops in Goes NASCAR
Dale Earnhardt Jr. is a favorite of many a NASCAR fan. One of those fans is Chad. Chad and his dad Jerry, turned their Tracker into a rolling tribute to the Number 8 team. As you can see, this race ready Tracker is finished off with a Rally Top. As a reward for a job well done, Jerry and Chad went to Charlotte Motor Speedway, where Chad got to ride in the real #8 car for a couple of 165 mph laps.”
