The Jeep CJ5 model is a small open-bodied, tough as nails  off-road truck that will take you anywhere you want to go.

The problem is they could be loud and difficult to be in for long trips. The tops frequently leaked and wore out. If you have a soft top you know what we mean. The ravages of the environment, off roading, sun, rain and time take it’s toll.

We have created brand new tops that perfectly match the specs of the old CJ5’s so now you can use your old trusty Jeep with a brand new hardtop.

Your Rally Tops hardtop will come with all the necessary parts to complete your installation. To safely lift and install this hardtop, you will need the assistance of at least one other person.

Follow the instructions and perform the steps in the sequence given. Short cuts to the directions may result in an unsatisfactory installation.

The brake light is a surface mounted LED light. It comes with splices and hardware to install. If you are not familiar with auto circuitry, it is advisable to consult with a professional for installation.

Battery-powered Dome Light

Battery operated LED light. Four times the light output of an incandescent battery light. No bulbs to replace and the batteries that last longer. Three powerful LEDs deliver 51 lumens of light and can run for days on one nine volt battery. (Battery not included)

The Jeep CJ5 was introduced in 1954 by the Kaiser Corporation, and the CJ-5 was based on the Korean War model M-38A1.

With nearly 30 years in production, the CJ-5 model outlasted all other Jeep production runs by a comfortable margin.

Many Jeep special editions were made over the years. They include The Tuxedo Park, The Camper, The 462, The Renegade 1, The Renegade 2, The Super Jeep and The Golden Eagle.

In 1970, Kaiser Jeep was purchased by American Motors Corporation (AMC).

The following years, AMC began using their inline 6 cylinder engines and in 1972 they offered a more powerful V-8 which we just loved. To accommodate the new larger engines, the hood was stretched 3″.

In 1976, the tub and frame were modified slightly from the earlier versions. This proves to be crucial for you, as you will see below.

The windshield frame was also changed, meaning that tops from 1955-1975 will not fit the 1976-1983 Jeep CJ-5s or vice versa.

Shipping

These are oversized items and require non-standard delivery services. Shipping rates are subject to review. Freight cost are additional. Your hardtop will be shipped via a common carrier. After your top is shipped, we will contact you with a tracking number and the carrier’s name. The shipping company will contact you with a date and time for the delivery. At this time you can ask for additional services, such as lift gate service or inside delivery.

These services are not covered by your prepaid freight charge. In other words, they cost extra and you will have to pay for them. Somebody needs to be present when your CJ5 Jeep top arrives. You should have another person present to help you and the driver unload the top from the truck.

You must inspect the top for damage, before you sign for it. You are signing that you received the top in good condition. So, it’s very important to open the box up, take your time to look inside and if it’s in good condition, sign for it. If the CJ5 top is damaged, don’t sign for it. Refuse the shipment and call us at (800) 664-8677.

Return Policy

We strive to deliver 100% customer satisfaction. If for any reason you are not satisfied with your Jeep CJ5 hard top, you may return it within 30 days of receipt for a full refund, excluding shipping & handling. Special orders tops are not returnable.

Other Notes:

No cutting or drilling required of your Jeep. Bolt-in design. Made in the USA. Large glass opening on the market for increased visibility. Jeep CJ5 hard tops will only work with full half doors made by Rally Tops. Tops will not work with any full soft door. Except the lower half of a Bestop Supertop door.

    I have a 1980 Jeep CJ5, it has a mildly modified 350 Chevy with a 4 speed transmission.

    The top really changed the appearance of this thing. I am super happy with the top. It went on fairly easy with a few adjustments here and there.
