The fun little Geo Tracker stole our hearts when it was introduced in 1989 as a brand net tiny sport truck SUV.

It is the predecessor to the Chevrolet Tracker and is technically classified as a mini SUV  produced for  Chevrolet  and  Geo by  CAMI Automotive  in Ingersoll, Ontario.

The Tracker is certified as a light truck due to its sturdier construction and off-road capabilities. The Tracker was produced under many brands in several different editions and in many countries. You can find different brand names of the small and useful Tracker, and they are all nearly identical.

The rear axle was a conventional light truck unit on coil springs and has truck-like underpinnings. This is good for traveling off road in harsh conditions but it also has a stiff ride.

The Geo Tracker is a durable sport truck and you see them everywhere you go. With a new hardtop, these hearty trucks can last for decades, and keep you warm and dry in any weather.

Product Features

  • Highest Quality Textured Exterior Finish
    Our hardtops are painted with a single stage UV resistant paint. Black is our standard color. White and Tan are optional at an additional charge.

    The side windows and rear hatch are DOT Approved tempered safety glass.

    The hardtop windows and rear hatch are tinted 31% to the maximum allowable by law.

  • Fully Carpeted
    The inside of our tops are finished in a mildew resistant gray carpet. This not only looks great, but it helps keep the road noise out.

  • Reduced Road and Wind Noises
    Our use of “Weather Guard” drastically cuts the interior noise level. You can carry on a conversation without raising your voice. Your sound systems will sound better.

  • Weather Insulated
    Our use of “Weather Guard” also insulates the interior from the outside elements. Your air conditioners and heaters will be much more efficient.

  • Rear Hatch Opens with Dual Gas Struts
    Your rear hatch will come up with a flick of the wrist, by extra strong gas props. They are guaranteed to keep your rear hatch up, even during off-roading.

  • Comes with All Necessary Hardware to Install Your Hardtop
    Some tools required.

Your Rally Tops hardtop will come with all the necessary parts to complete your installation. To safely lift and install this hardtop, you will need the assistance of at least one other person.

Follow the instructions and perform the steps in the sequence given. Short cuts to the directions may result in an unsatisfactory installation.

Side Sliding Windows are lockable from the inside. They have a screen to keep the bugs out. They open from back to front.

Brake Light

The brake light is a surface mounted LED light. It comes with splices and hardware to install. If you are not familiar with auto circuitry, it is advisable to consult with a professional for installation.

Battery-powered Dome Light

Battery operated LED light. Four times the light output of an incandescent battery light. No bulbs to replace and the batteries that last longer. Three powerful LEDs deliver 51 lumens of light and can run for days on one nine volt battery. (Battery not included)

Originally marketed under the Geo name by Chevrolet dealers, this four-wheel-drive compact SUV came in a 2-door wagon and 2-door convertible body style.

These little Sport Utility Vehicles were a joint venture between General Motors and Suzuki. The short wheelbase and minimal front and rear overhangs, combined with a well engineered part-time four-wheel-drive system, add up to one tough little bush-whacker.

The 1998 model name was changed from Geo Tracker to Chevy Tracker, but the body style remained unchanged from previous years. In 1999 the body style was changed and it remained the same until 2003, when the model was discontinued.

These are oversized items and require non-standard delivery services. Shipping rates are subject to review. Freight cost are additional. Your hardtop will be shipped via a common carrier. After your top is shipped, we will contact you with a tracking number and the carrier’s name. The shipping company will contact you with a date and time for the delivery. At this time you can ask for additional services, such as lift gate service or inside delivery. These services are not covered by your prepaid freight charge. In other words, they cost extra and you will have to pay for them. Somebody needs to be present when your top arrives. You should have another person present to help you and the driver unload the top from the truck. You must inspect the top for damage, before you sign for it. You are signing that you received the top in good condition. So, it’s very important to open the box up, take your time to look inside and if it’s in good condition, sign for it. If the top is damaged, don’t sign for it. Refuse the shipment and call us at (800) 664-8677.

Return Policy

We strive to deliver 100% customer satisfaction. If for any reason you are not satisfied with our Tracker hardtop, you may return them within 30 days of receipt for a full refund, excluding shipping & handling. Special Tracker top orders are not returnable.

    I bought a 2 PC Hardtop for a 1996 Geo Tracker. I waited about 3 weeks before it was delivered today. The first thing I noticed was the shipping box was open on one side and a corner of the shipping box was torn. I looked inside the shipping box and noticed that everything was bubbled wrapped very well. However, there were no installation instructions or hardware to install the hardtop inside the shipping box. I asked the driver to look in his truck for the missing hardware and he said he did not find any. Also, even though the 2 pieces of the 2-pc hardtop were bubble wrapped very well, there were no bracing in the shipped box to keep parts from moving around inside. I called Rally Tops and told the condition in which the hardtop was shipped and to let them know it was missing hardware. They told me they would ship the hardware to me as soon as possible.

    I took the front section of the hardtop out of the bubble wrap to look at it and noticed black paint was sticking to my hand. The inside of the front section looked much better with a carpeted finish. I did not inspect the rear section yet. I will for have to wait for the hardware to arrive.

    I give these stars overall for my Geo Tracker 2 PC Hardtop review as follows:

    4 stars for the inside finish – the carpeted inside looks great.

    Installation was initially a bit aggravating. Lining up the bolt holes was the first order of business. I had to cut interior panels to get it to fit. I had a ratty convertible top with no leaks, now I have a secure hard top with a very leaky front section. Technical support said put silicon on it.

    I am so happy to write this review and maybe put some minds at ease. My son helped me research getting a hard top for my Geo. I read the reviews(2) and tried to feel good about spending so much money over the internet. I even spent the extra to get the top in white. I haven’t always had the best experiences buying over the internet so was fearful. Sandy, in the office, called me to assure me my money and order had been received. She sent an email with the tracking info and assured me they would not use the shipper I asked not be used. The hard top arrived within the time frame she gave me (only 2 weeks).

    It arrived in perfect condition, all parts included. I had a soft top company install it as I was unable. They got it on quickly, perfectly. There was even a huge downpour that day to ensure no leaks. I feel like the happiest person! Now for a paint job. I will include a pic if I can find where to do that.

    My name is Guy Light and I live in Carson City Nevada and I was majorly impressed with the Geo Tracker hard top product and the methodology of shipping it came to me completely undamaged totally protected and there was no confusion or hassle wonderful shipping container.

    The Tracker top fit perfectly had to trim a little bit of plastic at the back and is totally as advertised excellent product.

    Hard top was ordered for a 96 Tracker that has completely been restored. I received a call stating that they had received my order, and would have it to me in 3 weeks. Right on time follow up emails with tracking and carrier info, and it arrived. it was foam wrapped, and in perfect condition just as it was ordered. the inside is more beautiful than I could imagine, and it looks great. I have only sat in on but will be bolting it on in the next days so that I can be sure my little 4wd monster is ready for the winter coming quickly. thanks!!!

    I purchased the hard top kit for my 1995 Geo tracker in 2020 and it keeps the dust out on dirt roads, it’s quieter, warmer and cooler depending upon the time of year, it doesn’t leak in snow or rain, it’s relatively easy to install, customer support is super…..It’s a good purchase. Don’t hesitate.

The top is kind of self-destructing it’s been on there since 98 looks like yours is pretty well constructed, does the rear window open up with hydraulics?
